Bill Bryant

Department:

Sales

Country/State:

Australia/NSW

Home City:

Sydney

Date of Passing:

26/04/2026

It is with a sad heart that I advise you all of the passing of Bill Bryant yesterday, Sunday 26 April 2026.

He had been in ill health for some time.

Bill joined Qantas in January 1965, as part of the 1965 JCT Intake and subsequently moved through various Sales positions.

Although Bill moved on from Qantas many years ago, he was instrumental in keeping ex Qantas employees together by initiating a monthly luncheon for anyone who could attend.

After leaving Qantas, Bill worked for Sheraton Hotels, Sydney Airports and finally for China Southern Airlines in Sydney, until retiring in recent years.

Bill will be greatly missed.

Kind regards
Chris Kewley

Following are words from Mike Culpan:

I can only recall Bill being in the ticket office then being selected as a foundation Qantam Training Officer after a stint in the UK learning Boadicea BA reservation system, along with the late John Mitchell, Jon Morgan, Garth Aston, Bill Wright and late Warwick Taaffe. I along with Wendy Rae and Geoff Jamieson then joined the team as trainers when they returned to Sydney to commence Qantam Training.

After the Qantam cutovers network wide, Bill then became the Training Supervisor of Human Relations Skills and then I joined him in that team.

I think he left QF not long after that and went into Sheraton Hotels, joining his close friend Bob Lunnon.

A huge smile and a loud laughter were his hallmark.
