A Message To All Our Traffic Friends:

It is with sadness that I bring you the news of the passing of Brian Pottie.
His son Mark has advised us that he died on 1st April 2026.
Brian’s time with us goes back to those wonderful days of the ‘Old Terminal’.
I believe he joined Traffic in the early 60’s, after joining Qantas as a Junior Commercial Trainee in January 1960.
As new kids on the block, we knew Brian as an STO doing Load Sheets and other duties, including Flight Traffic Officer.

He was a friendly and happy soul to share time with on your shift.
When Brian left Qantas he took up the roll of Airport Manager for Air Niugini.
Being very hands on he was able to keep in touch with his old Qantas workmates.
After retirement, Brian and his wife opened their B&B business in Mudgee.
Brian has struggled with his health now for several years.
He will be remembered and held in high regard by his many work friends and colleagues.
Rest In Peace, Brian, your work is done.
