David Rubie

Joined Qantas as a Junior Commercial Trainee (JCT) on the 1959 Intake.

David had a long and colourful career with Qantas which saw him in many roles including an early one, on secondment, as the General Manager of New Hebrides (now Vanuatu) Airlines. He then had numerous commercial and international relations roles which took him all around the Qantas network meeting and doing business with partner and competitive airlines.

After leaving Qantas he was very involved with his children’s various business endeavours and developed his passion for classic cars which he always had close at hand.
