Geoffrey Paton passed away on 05 March 2024 aged 82 years. He was diagnosed about 12 months earlier with a couple of medical conditions, and had been undergoing chemo. He was in hospital at the time of his passing.
Geoff was one of our earlier JCTs, having joined in December 1959 as part of the 1960 JCT intake, after completing his schooling at Crows Nest Boys' High School.
Subsequently, with the introduction of the Accounts Trainee scheme, Geoff along with 6 other ex JCTs at the time, transferred to become an Accounts Trainee.
Thus began his finance career, which lasted quite a few years in Qantas with his highlight being transferred to work in Hawaii for a couple of years.
On leaving Qantas, Geoff continued working in the Finance field, and was still actively involved in various ventures until recently.
