The Australian travel Industry is reeling today at the news of the untimely death of Joyce Weir, the vivacious National Business Development Manager for the
Meetings, Incentives, Conference’s and Exhibition (MICE) programs.
at Globus Family of Brands.
The highly respected Weir, had an extensive industry career, including almost 16 years at Qantas, progressing from Account Manager Industry Sales to Regional Sales Manager during her time at the airline.
After leaving Qantas she spent a couple of years on project work and consulting before joining Hawaiian Airlines in 2016, continuing her association with the MICE sector including recognition with the HA CEO “Lau Lima “ excellence in sales award.
She moved to Globus in early 2021 and worked tirelessly to grow opportunities in the conference and incentive space, developing exclusive, tailored MICE programs.
Joyce died unexpectedly on Monday, with Globus MD Asia Pacific, Gai Tyrrrell,
paying tribute by saying her dedication to her work, abundance of energy and enthusiasm made her “ a be.over colleague and friend who will greatly missed.”
