Zimbabwe

Harare

Date of Passing:

31/01/2019

Paul passed away on 31 January 2019 in Lymington, United Kingdom at the age of 82 after a short illness bravely borne.

Paul was the Qantas Airport Manager, Harare for many years and did an excellent job in what can only be described as difficult circumstances compared to his counterparts in other airports on the QF network. Paul came to Qantas from Air Rhodesia/Air Zimbabwe where he was highly respected by his fellow employees for his strong work ethic and his determination to “turn the aircraft around” as quickly as possible. The initial QF flights were operated by a once a week Boeing 747 SP aircraft SYD-PER-HRE-PER-SYD. This route soon became very popular with the crews due to the seven day stopover which allowed them to appreciate the incredible tourism potential within Zimbabwe, mainly at Victoria Falls and Hwange National Park.
