Peter was born in 1944 and spent his childhood in Earlwood until 1951, at which time his family moved to Roseville Chase. He attended Croydon Public School, before undertaking his High School tuition at Trinity Grammar School.
Following completion of his Leaving Certificate, he joined Qantas in 1962 as an Accounts Clerk in Pay Accounting. In 1964 he then decided that Accounting was not for him and he moved into the Ticket Office. After a Qantas career in Sales and Marketing, Peter held the position of Passenger Sales Manager NSW at the time of his departure in 1980.
Post Qantas, Peter worked in Managerial positions for various Companies, including Australian Wine Society, The Gladstone Hotel, Creative Tours, NorthWest Airlines, Jack Newton Promotions & Travel, Air France Holidays and GolfNet.
At the time of his passing, he was Manager of the Bakehouse Motel at Berrima.
