It is with sadness that I must bring you the news of the passing of Terry Jones.
Known affectionately to us all as ‘The Toad’, he will be remembered as quite a character.

Always ready for a yarn, Terry enjoyed a sense of humour that was easy to engage.
Your shift was complete if ‘The Toad’ was with you.

After joining Traffic back in 1972, he spent his early days working on the Check-In Counter and Passenger Arrival/Departure Lobbies.

Terry then moved onto the Ramp as a Dispatcher and finally took on a roll within Movement Control.

Many stories will be told of the ‘Life & Times’ of Terry Jones – And this is just one of them:

“The Toad’ along with Barry Weekes were handling a British Airways delayed departure. Finally after departure, the late and lovely ‘BA Nan’ invited them to wet their whistle in the BA Lounge and close the door as they left. Many hours later, after the beer ran out, they set off for home and noticed that it was now light.
Morning had arrived, as also was the early morning shift of Traffic Officers.
(Sometimes you just have to do what you have to do)

Terry was diagnosed with cancer over the Christmas period last year.
After just a short time in hospital, he passed away on Thursday, 4th March 2021 at the age of 75 years.

Rest in Peace, Terry.
